Jaime and John were truly one of the most fun and laid-back couples we’ve had the joy to work with! From Jaime and John’s thoughtful planning to be considerate of their friends and family and make sure everyone felt included and remembered on this special day to the way that Jaime and John made each other laugh and kick back to enjoy the scenery, we loved capturing every moment for them.
This early summer wedding was on point with Jaime’s flawless Hayley Paige dress and deep sapphire tones within the details along with bright, fun pops of pink. Little touches in their wedding day such as the fun Mr. and Mrs. George Clooney place card and the theme of elephants, which are a nod to her mother’s sister who passed away when Jaime was young. Jaime also shared an extremely touching note about why she included certain items in her wedding day:
“There were a lot of things at the wedding which were symbolic for either John, myself, or both of us. When I would look out on the wedding day and recognize the symbolism of certain things, it centered me. It was a reminder of why we were there and all of those who helped get us to this point in life. For without them, John and I wouldn’t be there standing next to each other.”
When Jaime shared that sentiment, I had to re-apply my mascara immediately and, also, I was viscerally reminded why photography — not just wedding photography — is so important to help us remember loved ones, our shared time on Earth, and what life is (really) made of: moments like these.
Jaime & John, from our laughter-filled engagement session where a total stranger joined us for portraits in Philly to your sweet happy-tear-filled wedding day, working with the two of you was a highlight of 2018. I think Charles said it best: “When do we hang out with them again?” With much love, appreciation, and many hugs, -Celia & Charles
