have you curated a mood board for the photo session? how will your photos be unique to you?

what are the images for? social media, a website, or a launch? is there a due date in mind? and do you know your ideal client?

what is your budget? are you working with a team and do they know your specific visual brand and goals?

have you defined the goal of the photo session? and have you thought about the story you'd like to tell with your images?

Every photo session has a goal. This list of questions is meant to help you think about the outline of your photo session so you are fully prepared for your next -- or first -- photoshoot. Photo sessions can be like making a cocktail or a mocktail. You need your base, your complimentary flavors, your garnish, and the appropriate glass.* Here's a quick question list to make sure you have all the ingredients in place for a successful photoshoot. Saddle up and take notes:

PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION

*Yep, I used to bartend. I can still make a drink... just don't ask me to make those 15 ingredient cocktails! ;)

"As soon as I found Celia's blog and IG, I knew I wanted to work with her. Celia's style is approachable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence. We prepared for the session through a prep call and mood boards, so we could make the most of our time together. On the day of the session, Celia helped me feel comfortable, even though I am not always relaxed in formal photography. She was reassuring and patient, offering strategies to help me share my authentic self. She has the unique ability to laugh with you, and take her business and work seriously. Celia listened thoughtfully to what I wanted to accomplish and helped make more beautiful images than I dreamed of. Her photos show my true energy and tell my story. Already looking forward to our next session."

"I worked with Celia on fitness photo shoot and it was such a pleasure from beginning to end. She was very clear of not only her offerings but also how she was able to bring my vision to life. Although it was our first time shooting together (and will not be our last) she made me feel like we had been friends for years. Celia truly has a passion for her craft, and it shows in her meticulous attention to detail and fun loving spirit."

"Celia is absolutely fantastic! My first shoot with her was a solo lifestyle shoot and I was a mess (I am so awful at "candid" shots!) Celia was so reassuring, friendly and patient. She was such a pleasure to work with I have continue to shoot with Celia - engagement photos (twice!) and next up, wedding! She is so caring and invested and really goes above and beyond. Her attention to detail is unparalleled and she always seems to be 10 steps ahead and prepared for anything. Type A's take note, if you work with Celia you can relax...she's already thought of it. She maintains professionalism at all times while still managing to make the shoot fun. Ultimately we opted to have Celia shoot our wedding because working with her feels like spending time with an old friend who just happens to take gorgeous photos."

"Celia was an absolute joy to work with! I needed branding photos taken for my new online business and after one look at her work, I knew I had to work with her. She made the process so seamless, especially since it was my first time getting photos taken, and I didn't have to think about a thing. She coached me on posing and even gave me a few tips on taking my own photos. The photos turned out amazing and I can't wait to use them on my website and social media! HIGHLY recommend Celia...you won't be disappointed!"

Celia is absolutely wonderful to work with. Celia obviously has an innate talent and eye for photography. But what's even more amazing is her ability to put you at ease during the shoot. Celia made me feel relaxed and comfortable, even when we were standing in the middle of Rittenhouse Square in front of lots of people! Celia also gave me lots of great tips about what to wear (or not wear), how to prepare for the day, and what to bring. It was SO helpful! I've worked with other photographers before, and they didn't give that level of detail. Last, but perhaps most important to me, Celia produced the most STUNNING photographs for me. I use them on my website, in my social media posts, and for all of my branding. Somehow, she perfectly captured me in the most authentic way and she presented my brand exactly as I wanted it to appear. I couldn't recommend Celia more no matter what type of business you have.

"I'm pretty photo shy (convinced that I never look in pictures like I look in real life), but Celia made me feel totally comfortable and got some amazing pictures that I will use for years to come! I would recommend her for any occasion."
